JAKARTA – The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, officially opened the Jakarta International Investment, Trade, Tourism, and Expo (JITEX) 2025 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Central Jakarta.
This international exhibition, running until September 21, is organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with the Indonesian Retailers and Shopping Center Tenants Association (HIPPINDO), the Indonesian Exhibition Companies Association (ASPERAPI), and the Asian Trade, Tourism, and Economics Council (ATTEC). This year, JITEX carries the theme "Jakarta Connecting Future."
"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to building an economic growth ecosystem that is inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive. JITEX serves as proof that Jakarta’s dynamism remains intact and continues to open up new opportunities," said Rano on Wednesday, September 17.
Rano is optimistic that the transaction value of JITEX 2025 could reach IDR 14.9 trillion.
"The enthusiasm of participants and visitors continues to grow year by year. I am confident that the tangible impact of JITEX will be increasingly felt by the economies of both Jakarta and Indonesia," he added.
JITEX showcases products from MSMEs, ranging from culinary items, fashion, electric vehicles, and furniture to manufacturing goods.
In addition to the exhibition, there are business and investment forums connecting business players with the private sector, regional and state-owned enterprises (BUMD and BUMN), local governments, and international partners.
"We want to make Jakarta not only a center for domestic trade but also a global gateway. Jakarta must be maintained as a hub for investment, trade, and tourism that connects other regions across Indonesia," he explained.
Budihardjo also highlighted the "Belanja di Indonesia Aja" (BINA)—or "Just Shop in Indonesia"—program as an effort to strengthen domestic consumption while opening access to global markets.
Beyond the trade exhibition, JITEX 2025 features seminars, talk shows, and international forums, including the Jakarta International Collaboration Expo (JICE), which involves 21 sister cities, friendly nations, embassy representatives, and international chambers of commerce. Beyond its business focus, the event also engages the general public through a travel fair, fashion show, creative workshops, and cultural performances. JITEX 2025 thus serves as a public space that brings together economic, cultural, and tourism interactions.
