“Garuda di Dadaku” Picks up Awards at 2024 Indonesian Film Festival

The film “Garuda di Dadaku” won many awards at the 2024 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) which took place at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday night. The film, directed by Rudi Soedjarwo, brought home six Citra trophies, including the Best Film and Best Director categories.
The FFI 2024 awards night was filled with emotional moments, especially when “Garuda di Dadaku” was announced as the winner of Best Picture. The film, which tells the story of the struggle of a young boy who dreams of becoming a professional soccer player, received praise from critics and audiences for its inspiring storyline and stunning acting from its cast.
In addition to winning the award for Best Film, Rudi Soedjarwo was also named Best Director. In his victory speech, Rudi thanked the entire crew and cast who had worked hard to realize this film. “This is the result of all our hard work. Thank you for your endless support and dedication,” he said.
Adipati Dolken, who played the main character in the movie, won the Best Actor award. He expressed his gratitude and dedicated the award to young soccer players in Indonesia. “I hope this movie can inspire young people to continue pursuing their dreams, whatever the challenges,” said Adipati.
Not only that, the movie also won awards for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Music. The success of “Garuda di Dadaku” at the 2024 FFI shows that the quality of Indonesian films is getting better and able to compete internationally.

Other winners included Maudy Ayunda who won the Best Actress award for her role in “Bintang di Langit,” and Reza Rahadian who won the Best Supporting Actor award for “Langit Senja.”
